JurisBot — Legal. Simplified.

AI legal assistant · Indian law

Know where you stand. And the law that says so.

Ask in plain English. JurisBot answers with the Indian statutes and judgments behind it — quoted, numbered, and checked before they reach you.

What it does

Six things, in the order they usually happen.

Most legal problems arrive as a question and end as a document, a deadline, or a lawyer. JurisBot covers the whole distance.

01

Ask

A plain-English answer, with the sources it comes from.

Type the question the way you would say it out loud. JurisBot answers in plain English and shows the Indian statutes and judgments the answer rests on — numbered, and openable.

02

Upload

A document summarised, with the missing clauses flagged.

Choose a file, scan it with the camera, or import it from Drive. An agreement, a notice, a bank return memo — JurisBot reads it and tells you what it actually says.

03

Review

Risk flagged clause by clause, with the fix written out.

Every finding carries a High, Medium or Low risk badge, an explanation of why it matters to you, and the replacement wording — not just a warning that something is wrong.

04

Draft

Notices, replies, complaints, agreements, affidavits.

Answer a few questions and JurisBot writes the document, citing the law it is built on. It reads what your conversation already revealed and asks only for the rest — one question at a time.

05

Remember

Every chat, file, draft and deadline for one issue, together.

A matter is one legal issue and everything attached to it. Limitation periods and hearing dates surface on the card before they pass, not after.

06

Escalate

A prepared brief you carry to an advocate.

When a matter needs a lawyer, JurisBot assembles your facts, your documents, the sources and the open questions onto one page. You arrive prepared, and the first consultation is not spent on background.

Cited answers

Every answer shows its working.

Ask in plain English and the answer comes back structured — where your right comes from, the usual sequence, what the clock looks like, and what changes in your State.

Under it sit the sources, numbered. Open one and you get the paragraph the answer actually relied on, not a case name you have to go and find. A source is marked Verified only if it survived the citation validator.

Indian law varies by State on tenancy, stamp duty, land and police procedure, so the composer carries a State chip and the answer respects it.

Reach an advocate

A directory of checkable facts, not purchased reviews.

There are no stars here, and there never will be. Indian Bar Council rules do not permit advocates to be advertised, rated or ranked by a platform.

What you get instead is everything you can actually check: enrolment number, State Bar Council, year enrolled, AIBE status, the courts they appear before, practice areas, languages, and the fee band they publish themselves. Listed in a neutral order, filterable by what you need.

You send a request, not a booking. The advocate decides whether to accept, and any fee is agreed and paid directly between the two of you. JurisBot holds no money and takes no commission.

The advocate directory, headed by a notice reading “No ratings, no rankings, no paid placement”, listing advocates with their State, year of enrolment, practice areas, languages and published consultation fee band.

Arrive prepared

Walk in with a brief, not a shoebox.

The most expensive part of a first consultation is the hour spent explaining the background. JurisBot assembles it for you: your facts in order, the documents you uploaded, the sources that apply, and the questions still open.

Attach it to a consultation request and the advocate opens a prepared brief instead of a conversation that starts at zero.

The consultation request screen, where the user writes a subject and detail and can choose to share their prepared matter brief with the advocate.

The unusual part

Two things that will surprise you.

One

There are no advocate ratings, and there never will be.

The Madras High Court held in July 2024 that a third party cannot brand or rate an advocate, and Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules bars indirect solicitation. So profiles carry Bar-verifiable facts in a neutral, shuffled order — enrolment number, State Bar Council, year enrolled, courts, practice areas, languages, and the advocate’s own published fee band. A test in the codebase asserts the absence of every rating-shaped element, so this cannot quietly regress.

Two

Citations are validated, not trusted.

A model that writes a plausible-looking case name is worse than useless in law. JurisBot generates answers only from retrieved source text, then checks every citation against what was actually retrieved before you see it. The check is ordinary, unit-tested code — not an instruction in a prompt — and the verdict travels with the citation. That is what the Verified mark means.

Where people start

Most people arrive with one of these.

These are the openers in the app, written the way you would actually say them out loud — not the way a statute would.

An arrest, domestic violence, a child at risk, a limitation period about to expire — JurisBot leads with the helpline and with free legal aid, and only then explains the legal position. Free legal services are available as of right to specified categories, including women and persons in custody.
